The 2016 ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup jumps over the Pyrenees from La Seu D’Urgell to Pau for the third in a series of five events.

This is the fourth time Pau hosts a Slalom World Cup event after 2009, 2012 and 2015.

Seven World Cup events in Pau have been won by France. No country has won more than two events in Pau.

Last year, Pierre-Antoine Tillard (FRA, C1M) and Emilie Fer (FRA, K1W) won in Pau.

Peter Kauzer (SLO) is the only with multiple World Cup wins in Pau. He won K1M in 2009 and 2015.

C2 Men

Edern Le Ruyet and Pierre-Antoine Tillard (FRA) won this event last week in La Seu d'Urgell, their second podium place in this event after a third place in Kraków in 2015.

Le Ruyet / Tillard can become the first pair to win successive C2M World Cup events since Gauthier Klauss / Matthieu Peche (FRA) won in Augsburg in 2014 (last event of the year) and Prague in 2015 (first of the year).

The last pair to win successive C2M World Cup events within a single season were Peter and Ladislav Skantar (SVK). They won in Tacen, Prague and La Seu d'Urgell in 2014.

The last five C2M World Cup events have been won by five different teams. The last time six successive races were won by different teams was in the first six of 2008.

Pavel and Peter Hochschorner have won a record 31 World Cup events, all in C2M. Their last victory dates back to 5 July 2015, when they were victorious in Liptovský Mikuláš. They finished 10th two weeks ago in Ivrea and 16th in La Seu d'Urgell last week.

They have won the C2M World Cup standings a record 10 times. However, their last victory came in 2011.

The 10 victories in World Cup standings are also most across all events.

C1 Men

Alexander Slafkovsky (SVK) won this event last week in La Seu d'Urgell, his fifth World Cup win in this event.

Slafkovsky can become the first man to win successive C1M races since Anze Bercic (SLO) won respectively in La Seu d'Urgell and Tacen in 2013.

Only Tony Estanguet (FRA, 14) and Michal Martikán (SVK, 13) have won more C1M World Cup events in this century than Slafkovsky (5).

Last year, all five World Cup C1M events were won by five different men. That also happened in 2014.

In 2013, Bercic was the only man to win twice as he was victorious in La Seu d'Urgell and Tacen.

C1 Women

Nuria Vilarrubla (ESP) won this event last week in La Seu d'Urgell, her second win in C1W after her win last year in Pau.

The last to win the C1W World Cup event in succession was Jessica Fox (AUS) when she claimed four consecutive wins in 2013.

Fox has won a record 13 World Cup events in C1W. Rosalyn Lawrence (AUS) follows with four victories.

Fox has won the C1W World Cup standings twice, including last year (2013 and 2015). This ties the record held by Lawrence, who has won in 2011 and 2012.

K1 Men

Vit Prindis (CZE) won this event in La Seu d'Urgell last week, his second podium place in this event after a second place in Lee Valley in 2014.

He can become the first man since Etienne Daille (FRA) in 2012 to win successive K1M World Cup races.

Daille is also the last man to win multiple K1M World Cup events in one season. He won three in 2012.

In 2015 and 2016 combined, Peter Krauzer (SLO) has amassed most podium places (G1-B2).

K1 Women

Maialen Chourraut (ESP) won the K1W World Cup race last week in La Seu d'Urgell.

It was her sixth win in this event after winning in Cardiff Bay (2012), Pau (2012), La Seu d'Urgell (2010, 2014) and Kraków (2015).

Chourraut can become the first woman to win in succession since Jana Dukatova (SVK) won in Prague and Bratislava in 2012.

Only Elena Kaliská (SVK, 11), Stepanka Hilgertová (CZE, 11), Mandy Planert (GER, 8) and Dukatova (8) have won more in this century in this event at the World Cup.

K1M Slalom Cross

Vit Prindis (CZE) won the K1M Slalom Cross World Cup event last week in La Seu d'Urgell and finished in second place in Ivrea two weeks ago.

It was his second World Cup win in total after also winning the K1M in La Seu d'Urgell last week.

Prindis is the only man who has claimed multiple podium place in both K1M and K1M Slalom Cross this World Cup season.

Vavrinec Hradilek (CZE) won this event in Ivrea, his first World Cup win since a K1M win in Kraków in 2015.

K1W Slalom Cross

Martina Wegman (NED) won this event last week in La Seu d'Urgell, her first podium place in any World Cup event.

It was the first podium place for a Dutchman since Floris Braat (NED) won K1M in La Seu d'Urgell in 2000.

Ajda Novak (SLO) won the K1W Slalom Cross in Ivrea two weeks ago. It was her first podium spot in any World Cup event.

All six women claiming a podium finish in K1W Slalom Cross in either La Seu d'Urgell or Ivrea, claimed their first podium spot in a World Cup event.
