He was chosen as a Young Ambassador for the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer by the Slovenian Olympic Committee, and accompanied young Slovenian athletes to the Games in Norway. "My mission was to provide young athletes with the opportunity to have as much Olympic experience as possible and to help them to be successful in sports and in life." As a young boy he practised gymnastics. His parents then signed him up for a kayak school and he transferred to canoe.
