Avranches in France has been awarded the hosting rights for this year’s European Canoe Association (ECA) Canoe Polo European Championships.
Situated in the region of Normandy in northern France, Avranches is poised to play host of Europe’s top competition in Canoe Polo from September 8 to 14.
The 2025 ECA Canoe Polo European Championships was initially awarded to Kalisz, Poland only for the organisers to withdraw in February this year.
After thoughtful consideration, the ECA Board of Directors has accepted the bid of the French Canoe Federation and the city of Avranches to organise this year’s ECA Canoe Polo European Championships.
It will be the second ECA Canoe Polo tournament of the year to be held at this venue.
Namely, Avranches will also stage the second ECA Canoe Polo European Cup of 2025, holding the competition from June 21 to 22.
It is an exciting year for Canoe Polo fans with the discipline featuring at The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China.
Canoe Polo will make its sixth appearance at The World Games, with competition taking place from August 13 to 16.
