Jessica Fox secured a second successive gold as she led Australia to glory at the International Canoe Federation Canoe Slalom World Championships in Oklahoma City, United States.
The three-time Olympic champion followed up her success in the women’s kayak cross individual to link up with her sister Noemie Fox and Kate Eckhardt to capture the women’s kayak teams crown.
There was also delight for Slovenia as Ziga Lin Hocevar, Lan Tominc and Peter Kauzer combined to win the men’s kayak teams title.
Jessica Fox is back competing at the World Championships after being ruled out of last year’s edition following kidney surgery.
Since her return, Fox has produced a series of winning performances and has already picked up two golds from the opening two days in Oklahoma City.
After her individual success on Tuesday, the 32-year-old came together with Noemie Fox and Eckhardt to secure top spot.
The Australian team triumphed in 97.87, beating France’s Emma Vuitton, Camille Prigent and Marjorie Delassus who clocked 98.51.
Slovakia’s Eliska Mintalova, Sona Stanovska and Zuzana Pankova earned bronze in 100.72.
“We have been paddling together since we were 12 and done many team races together,” said Jessica Fox.
“We have won together, we have cried together and today it was a really good day.
“I love paddling with Kate and Noemie.”
Eckhardt added: “We are all really proud of how we paddled and had this really good trust together.”
Kauzer, 42, ended his long wait for the men’s kayak teams crown with victory in Oklahoma City.
It was his first world title since sealing K1 gold in 2011 as he teamed up with 19-year-old Hocevar and Tominc for top spot in 89.50.
Switzerland’s Martin Dougoud, Jan Rohrer and Gelindo Chiarello earned silver in 89.71, while Felix Oschmautz, Mario Leitner and Max Steinbrenner secured bronze for Austria in 90.78.
“It means a lot, especially for me at 42,” said Kauzer.
“I have been on the circuit for more than 20 years and I had never won the teams event at the World Championships.
“I have been European champion in this event a couple of times but never world champion and now another box ticked.”
Hocevar added: “It feels really good. I have been watching Peter my whole life, he is my idol, so it’s amazing to compete with him and Lan (Tominc).”
