Poznan in Poland will be making a welcome return to the ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup circuit when it hosts the opening event of the 2019 season. Poznan last hosted a World Cup in 2013.

Poznan has a proud history with canoe sprint, having hosted world championships in 1990, 2001 and 2010. It has has also hosted major European and paracanoe events.

This will be the final hitout for many of the planet's best canoe sprint athletes before qualifying for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics begins, so it can be expected that the world's best will all be on display.
