WHEN/WHERE DID YOU START CANOEING/ KAYAKING?
Started kayaking at my local lake in 2012 with my first international competition being in 2014 in Salt, Spain.
REASON FOR TAKING UP THE SPORT
A love of the community around freestyle and the big international family that it has now become.
NAME OF COACH
Tamsyn McConchie (GB)
MEMORABLE SPORTING ACHIEVEMENT
Finalist at the 2015 World Championships in Canada.
SPORTING PHILOSOPHY/ MOTTO
“There's always a new way to paddle a river.” This was taught to me by a very close friend, even on a river that you've paddled a thousand times, there is always a trick, move, eddy you haven't tried making. You just need to look at the rapids with a new frame of mind.
AMBITIONS
To help develop freestyle into a modern era of cane and kayak sports. To try and help not only run big competitions but make them as paddle focused as I can. To make sure that it is the best athletes being recognised as well as our newest athletes getting the most out of the event as they can.
