Olympians Ana Satila, Evy Leibfarth and Sebastian Rossi were among the gold medalists at the Pan American Canoe Slalom titles held in Brazil on the weekend.

Strong fields led to keen racing at Brazil’s Trés Coroas, with senior, U23 and junior titles in canoe, kayak and kayak cross all decided.

Three-time Olympian Ana Satila thrilled the home fans with a massive win in the women’s senior C1 final. Satila had a perfect run to finish more than 20 seconds ahead of Canada’s Lois Betteridge, with Paraguay’s Ana Fernandes taking the bronze.

Satila’s sister, Omira Estacia, took the gold in the women’s K1, with Canada’s Florence Maheu finishing second and Argentina’s Nadia Riquelme third. In the men’s K1 Chile’s Andraz Echeveria had one of the closest wins of the day, edging out Brazil’s Pedro Goncalves by 0.21 of a second for the title.

Argentina’s Matias Contreras was third. His teammate, and London and Rio Olympian, Sebastian Rossi took the gold in the men’s canoe, finishing almost five seconds clear of Canada’s Alex Baldoni and American Zachary Lokken.

Tokyo Olympian Evy Leibfarth tasted victory in the women’s U23 K1, one of four gold medals for the USA in junior and U23 competition. Leibfarth also won the senior women’s kayak cross final, ahead of Canada’s Mayeu, with Mexico’s Sofia Reinoso third.

American Joshua Joseph won the men’s U23 K1, while Kyler Long took gold in the men’s junior K1. Marcella Altman won the women’s U23 C1 gold.

Other winners were Argentina’s Nerea Castiglione in the women’s junior C1 and K1, teammate Manuel Triano in the men’s U23 C1, and Brazil’s Augusto Veira De Souza in the men’s junior C1.

Brazil’s Guilherme Rodrigues won the men’s kayak cross gold, Chile’s Jesus Martinez the junior kayak cross title, while Florencia Aguirre from Chile took the women’s junior kayak cross crown.
