The final day of racing in Shaoxing saw the normal long course races for seniors which were closely contested in all the international classes.
Andy Birkett of South Africa was joined early on by Adrian Boros of Hungary, Filippo Vincenzi of Italy and Quentin Urban of France in a lead group which worked well together to steadily pull away from the rest of the field and then to race out for the medal positions with just over a second separating first from third.
Birkett took the win to achieve the double of short and long course victories, with Boros second and Vincenzi third.
In the women's K1, Lizzie Broughton of Great Britain avoided the rudder problems that affected her short course race and stayed in the leading group to finish third behind Anna Koziskova of Czech Republic in first and Jenny Egan of Ireland in second.
The men's C1 saw a lead group of three forming quickly that survived for most of the race, before Mateusz Zuchora of Poland was dropped leaving Bence Dori of Hungary to take the win from Jakub Brezina of the Czech Republic in second.
The women's C1 race was made up entirely of Chinese athletes with Shijun Hong taking a comfortable win from JIng Wang and Yuting Wu in a race which demonstrated Chinese credentials to take on the paddlers from the rest of the world in two years time.
