It took Klaudia Zwolinska a couple of months before she finally felt comfortable watching her final run at the Tokyo Olympics.

The Polish kayak slalom paddler finished fifth in the women’s K1 final, on Olympic debut, but as she told our Planet Canoe Path To Paris podcast, she knew she should have performed better.

“The final was a big disappointment for me, I was not very happy with my performance,” Zwolinska told the podcast.

“I had small  mistakes and I missed a medal because of this.”

But Zwolinska also told the podcast she has matured a lot since Tokyo. As she prepares for Paris 2024, and the likelihood she’ll be competing in three events, the 25-year-old feels ready to take on the pressure.

“I’ve had the opportunity to grow up a bit. Now I’m a more experienced athlete,” she said.
