A prize fund will be up for grabs at this year’s International Canoe Federation Dragon Boat Club Crew World Championships in Ruse, Bulgaria.
The Host Organising Committee has confirmed that teams will have the chance to compete for €20,000 in the men’s and women’s senior events.

Staged from September 18 to 21, the ICF competition is set to deliver a thrilling programme of races.
It promises to be a fun-filled event offering a wonderful experience for all travelling participants.
As well as a fantastic competition, a Dragon Boat Festival will be held in Ruse with the cultural programme organised with the assistance of the Chinese Embassy.
It is set to be an exciting blend of festival activities and thrilling racing as club crews compete for top prizes.
The HOC is encouraging teams to sign up via their National Federation by July 24.
A final deadline of September 8 has been set for entries which need to be submitted by the respective National Federation through the ICF’s SDP.
All participants must pay an entry fee of €80 per person, which includes accreditation, medical care at the course, use of boats for training and races, boat storage and more.
All hotel prices include full board, with lunch served at the venue. A half-board meals package is also available on request at €45 per person. This includes lunch and dinner at the venue for teams not using the Host Organising Committee’s hotels.
With a population of 150,000, Ruse is the biggest Bulgarian city on the Danube River.
Ruse is a cosmopolitan city with more than 20 centuries of history and welcomes its guests with an impressive architectural heritage inspired by the progressive European spirit of its citizens.
The Lesopark Lipnik course is located in the village of Nikolov, 10km from Ruse. It is situated in a huge forest park that features restaurants, artificial lakes, a hotel, a zoo, a children’s corner and a sports facility.
Competition will comprise senior, junior, and masters races.
In the open, women and mixed senior categories, competition will be in 10-paddler and 20-paddler boats over the distances of 200m, 500m and 2000m.
