The International Canoe Federation is excited to provide the first glimpse of the Paracanoe competition schedule for the Paralympic Games LA28.
The unveiling marks 1,000 days until the Opening Ceremony of the Paralympic Games on August 15 as excitement continues to ramp up.
Paracanoe competition will run for three days, taking place on August 24, August 25 and August 26, before the Games closes on August 27.
All three sessions will begin at 9:00 local time, with medals awarded on August 26 and 27.
Races will be staged at the impressive Marine Stadium which forms part of the Long Beach Zone in LA.
Unlike Paris 2024 when Paracanoe was concluded on the same day as the Closing Ceremony, competition will finish one day before the Games are officially brought to a close.
A total of 10 medal events will be contested in Paracanoe as paddlers set their sights on Paralympic glory.
The programme will feature men’s KL1, KL2, KL3, VL2 and VL3 as well as women’s KL1, KL2, KL3, VL2 and VL3.

LA28 will be Paracanoe’s fourth successive appearance at the Paralympic Games after successful showings at Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024.
“The unveiling of the competition schedule always generates a buzz of excitement as we look ahead to the Games,” said John Edwards, Chair of the ICF Paracanoe Committee.
“Once again, Paracanoe will be contested over three days with paddlers competing across 10 medal events.
“The schedule is set to deliver fantastic races as athletes from across the world look to make their mark on the Paralympic stage.”
Leading up to the 2028 Games, the competition schedule will continue to evolve as planning progresses, with a more detailed schedule by event to be released in 2026.
All events and sessions of the Paralympic competition schedule are subject to change leading up to the competitions and until the end of the LA28 Paralympic Games.
