The next generation of paddlers can get a taste of the sport in the form of a summer camp at the 2025 International Canoe Federation Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Championships.

In collaboration with the Lombardy Region, the Italian Canoe Kayak Federation (FICK) will be hosting the "Supporter for a Day - Let's Cheer for Sport" camp, an educational and sporting initiative at the Idroscalo Regatta Course from August 20 to 24.

Children aged eight to 12 years are eligible to apply individually or through summer centres, sports associations, and social cooperatives operating in the Lombardy area.

The unique opportunity will see kids interact with world-class athletes, including those competing at the World Championships, through meet-and-greet sessions.

Funded by the Lombardy Region, the camp is part of a broader programme of sports promotion in connection with the ICF's flagship event.

The initiative will see children being educated on the values of fair play, respect for rules, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability.

The activity, which will run daily during the World Championships from 9:30 to 16:00, will have two phases.

The FICK will host the camp along with Lombardy Region

In the morning session, participants will be introduced to all paddle sport disciplines, after which they will get a chance to try out ergometers.

Post lunch, there will be environmental and inclusion workshops, meetings with national team athletes present on site, and a guided tour of the competition venue and the opportunity to watch the World Championship races.

Shuttle services from metro stations, lunch and a fan kit consisting of a t-shirt, shorts, a recycled water bottle, and a bag will be provided to all registered participants.

Those who join will also receive free membership to FICK.
