Strategy

Knee not too far forward and hips aligned to the upper body to avoid movement and decelerating.

Posture

Hips need to be firm to maintain the stability of the canoe. Use the paddle as a support. Never take the paddle out of the water or lean your weight on the canoe. It may lead to capsizing.
Workout

It’s not just about the arms. You need to workout your chest and do core exercises to achieve proper traction when paddling.
Legs need to be strong to push the boat forward and support.
When you start canoeing, you learn just how-shaped moments with the paddle. As the paddle moves through the water, it steers the canoe like a boat rudder
