The International Canoe Federation is delighted to announce a new partnership with Gath Sports, a global leader in protective helmets for water sports.
As the ICF's Development Equipment Partner, Gath Sports will support the federation's commitment to enhancing athlete safety, driving innovation and strengthening development programmes around the world.
The partnership comes just days before the start of the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships in Oklahoma City, United States, where its impact will be seen immediately.
A total of 20 Gath Sports helmets have been delivered to Oklahoma City for athletes taking part in the ICF development camp, helping ensure they have access to world-class protective equipment as they train and compete.

Over the past four years, Gath Sports has invested heavily in the research, development, and testing of the world's first dedicated kayak cross helmet kit.
Combining the renowned impact protection of Gath helmets with a specially engineered titanium face guard, the system was developed specifically to meet the unique demands of modern kayak cross competition.
The innovative design allows athletes to quickly remove the face guard when competing in kayak cross time trials and other canoe disciplines, providing versatility without compromising safety.
Years of development, athlete feedback, and extensive testing culminated in the official launch of the helmet during the 2025 World Championships and its approval for international competition.
The achievement marked a historic moment for the sport and reinforced Gath Sports' commitment to innovation-driven safety solutions.
Together, Gath Sports and the ICF look forward to supporting athletes, coaches, and developing nations through education, equipment development, and continued advancements in safety standards.

"This partnership is about more than helmets,” said Federico Infantino, Marketing and Team Manager for Gath Sports.
“It is about supporting the growth of paddle sports worldwide, improving athlete safety, and continuing to innovate for the future of the sport.
“We are incredibly proud to work alongside the International Canoe Federation and contribute to the development of paddling at every level."
ICF Vice President Dr. Cecilia Farias said: “It is fantastic to welcome Gath Sports as an ICF Development Equipment Partner.
“This partnership is especially valuable for the athletes participating in our development programme, providing them with access to world-class protective equipment.
“Athlete safety is always a priority for the ICF, and by working together we can continue to raise safety standards, support developing nations, and help ensure paddlers at every level have the opportunity to train and compete with confidence."
