Hungary’s Agnes Anna Kiss and Bianka Nagy continued their fantastic form to win a second gold at the International Canoe Federation Canoe Sprint World Cup in Poznan, Poland.
Kiss and Nagy dug deep in the closing stages to clinch the women’s canoe double 200m title in 42.55, adding to the women’s C2 500m crown they won yesterday.
“We are very happy to win the 200m,” said Kiss.
“We won a silver in this race in Szeged so we did better here.

“We had a stronger finish compared to Szeged.
“I think we are the best finishers now in 200m and 500m and that’s why we could win.”
Ukraine’s Valeriia Tereta and Iryna Fedoriv secured silver in 43.25 with China’s Anshuo Teng and Xina Jiang bagging bronze in 43.32.
Victory for Vincent in Poland
Canada’s Katie Vincent overcame the challenge of Ukraine’s Liudmyla Luzan to secure the women’s C1 500m crown.
It was neck and neck between the two rivals as they battled it out for pole position.
There was little between them for much of the race before Vincent found an extra gear to get the edge, winning in 2:02.53.
Luzan clinched silver in 2:04.25, with China’s Yanan Ma coming third in 2:05.66.
“It was a great race,” said Vincent.
“I try to keep pushing my level and improving every weekend.
“There were fairer conditions out there today so that was an easier race to push myself more.
“I’ve been racing with Liudmyla my whole career so it’s great that she is still performing well and we can compete against each other.”
Ukraine power to men’s C4 title
Ukraine judged their race to perfection as they came from behind to seal men’s canoe four 500m gold.
The Hungarian quartet led for much of the race only to be overhauled by Ukraine, China, Poland and Italy.
Ukraine’s Vitaliy Verheles, Taras Mishchuk, Taras Mazovskyi and Andrii Rybachok took the title in 1:31.78.
China’s Linshan Lei, Yutao Gao, Yukun Gao and Youmin Zuo secured silver in 1:32.06, while the bronze went to Poland’s Aleksander Kitewski, Oleksii Koliadych, Lukasz Witkowski and Norman Zezula who finished in 1:32.17.
“We have put in a lot of hard training to get this so we are very happy to win this,” said Rybachok.
“We had a very strong finish and we were able to be more powerful at the end of the race.”
