The men’s kayak final saw a French one-two-three, while Olympic silver medallist Klaudia Zwolinska bagged two medals at the International Canoe Federation Canoe Slalom World Ranking event in Prague, Czechia.    

Martin Cornu led from the front for the men in blue to win the men’s K1 gold medal in 85.14 as compatriots Mathurin Madore and Leni Perreau followed through with silver and bronze, respectively.  

All three paddlers were error-free in the final, but the French domination did not end there.  

In the men’s canoe final, Jules Bernardet added to their tally by crossing the line in the fastest time.  

He clocked 90.87, 0.95 faster than countryman and silver medallist Adrien Fischer, with the bronze going to Vaclav Chaloupka of Czechia.  

Polish Paris 2024 medallist Zwolinska, who struck gold at the World Ranking event at the beginning of August, is coming to form in time for the fourth ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup in Ljubljana, Slovenia, cruising to the title in the women’s K1 final.    

She timed 92.25 to get the better of Olympic kayak cross champion Noemie Fox of Australia, who registered 93.76. Czechia’s Antonie Galuskova secured bronze in 95.64.

Gabriela Satkova gave the home fans joy by taking first place in the women’s C1, with the finest of margins.  

Her timing of 98.02 was only 0.57 better than Andorran European champion Monica Doria 

Zuzana Pankova ensured Slovakia got on top of the podium. The youngster who won two medals at the U23 World Championships this year got the bronze medal in 100.23. 

The exciting kayak cross finals saw Switzerland take the men’s and women’s gold medals.  

Alena Marx was the fastest in the women’s final, which saw Zwolinska add a silver, with world and European medallist Sophie Ogilvie taking the third position.  

Jan Rohrer was unstoppable in the men’s kayak cross final with Jakub Krejci of Czechia and Dimitri Marx of Switzerland bagging silver and bronze, respectively.
