India is set to launch its first-ever Canoe Sprint League as it looks to contribute to the growth of the sport in Asia and across the world.

The President Cup, Tehri, and Indian Canoe Sprint League is scheduled to be staged at the Tehri Lake from November 28 to 30.

Nestled in the heart of the Himalayas in Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, the lake provides a stunning setting for top-level competition.

The event is being run by the Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association (IKCA) and has received the support of International Canoe Federation President Thomas Konietzko and Asian Canoe Confederation President Chainarong Charoenruk.

Athletes from across the world are being invited to participate in the Indian Canoe League where the programme features canoe and kayak events in single, double and four-person boats across the junior, U18 and U23 categories.
