Chinese clubs and national team dominated the second day of the 2024 International Canoe Federation Dragon Boat World Cup in Zigui, Yichang.
Together, they won seven of the 10 gold medals on offer, with Myanmar taking two and Thailand grabbing one.
The mixed eight-seater 200m final saw Myanmar finish first in 50.876, followed by China and AIN club Arrow in 51.719 and 53.629, respectively.
The order of the podium remained the same with Myanmar piping the hosts for the mixed eight-seater 500m gold medal.
They posted an impressive timing of 2:15.959, almost four seconds faster than China in 2:19.399.
The competition, however, was tighter between China and bronze medallists Arrow, who clocked 2:19.671.
Thailand triumphed in the mixed 10-seater 2000m, crossing the line in 8:57.280, with Indonesia taking silver and China winning bronze. The result is crucial as two teams can qualify for the World Games in Chengdu next year in the category.
Chinese clubs Hubei Zigui and Shunde Daliang Damen Dragon Boat Association came out on top in the open categories of the 10-seater 200m final and the 10-seater 500m final.
Hubei Zigui, with a timing of 46.872, beat the other Chinese club in the 10-seater 200m final before the order reversed in the latter race, with Shunde Daliang Damen Dragon Boat Association taking the title in 2:04.575.
China's dominance was evident with the timings in many categories in Yichang. They won the women's 10-seater 200m final by almost three seconds ahead of Arrow, clocking 51.043. The gap grew bigger as Dagun Pilipinas took bronze in 58.235.
Chin beat Arrow to the women's eight-seater 200m gold in 56.071. German club Team Spreecoyoten got the bronze.
China, Arrow and India took gold, silver and bronze, respectively in the women's eight-seater 500m. The hosts clocked 2:28.888 for the title.
The trio shared the same positions in the women's 10-seater 500m final, with the home team cruising to victory in 2:20.766.
The hosts won the mixed eight-seater 2000m in 9:55.430 while Myanmar took silver in 9:57.410 and bronze went to Arrow in 10:01.130.
