Corinna Kuhnle (AUT, K1W) and the cousin partnership of Ladislav and Peter Skantar (SVK, C2M) went through in their respective top slot from the semifinals as the action continued thick and fast from the 2016 ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup in Tacen, Slovenia.

With a shortened 14-gate course the pressure was on to push hard right from the off with clean and fast the prerequisite to ensure progression to the finals.

The first eight K1W all had faultless runs with Kuhnle swiftly followed by Fiona Pennie (GBR) and Ricarda Funk (GER) to complete the top three.

Saturday’s C1 Women’s champion, Kimberly Woods (GBR), closed out the top 10 making it three Brits and two a piece for Germany and Austria in the final 10.

Last weekend's silver medallist, Ana Satila (BRA), bowed out at the semifinal stage, as did regular finalist and previous series winner Jana Dukatova (SVK).

Meanwhile the Skantar cousins tore up the course in the C2 Men's class continuing the exceptional form that saw them win gold at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The French duo of Pierre Picco and Hugo Biso followed the Slovakian crew, but with a significant five-second deficit.

The Slovenian partnership of Luka Bozic and Saso Taljat did not have their best day and were unable to recover from a slip up mid-way down their run and exited the competition early.
