Spain’s Esperanza Barreras made it three women’s long distance titles in a row with a victory on the final day of the 2024 International Canoe Federation Stand Up Paddling World Championships in Sarasota, United States

Just 24 hours after losing her women’s technical crown to fellow Spaniard Duna Gordillo, Barreras responded superbly at the Florida venue.

“It’s amazing, finally to get the gold medal,” said Araki, who also finished second to Garioud in Saturday’s technical final.

“Also, I’m only 18 so physically I’m still weak. I am happy to win this huge challenge.”
