The Asian Canoe Confederation has officially opened its new headquarters in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
The Secretariat is located within the Olympic Hall New Wing of the Olympic Park in the Songpagu district of the Korean capital.
It is the start of a new chapter for the ACC, led by President Chainarong Charoenruk, as the Secretariat will provide a permanent base for staff to work from.
Jake Eunsuk Kim, who was elected as Secretary General of the ACC in November last year, said he was thrilled to open the new headquarters in his native country, with the continental governing body now sharing office space with the Korean Canoe Federation.
“The establishment of the Asian Canoe Confederation Secretariat was my election pledge,” said Mr Eunsuk Kim.
“I am glad that we were able to realize this in a short time.
“I will work closely with the International Canoe Federation to prepare for a new leap forward for the Asian Canoe Confederation.”
ICF President Thomas Konietzko has welcomed the opening of the new ACC Secretariat.
“This is fantastic news for our friends at the Asian Canoe Confederation and I wish them all well in their new offices,” said Mr Konietzko.
“I am sure this move will bring a lot of benefits to the ACC as paddle sports continue to flourish across Asia.”
