Tacen, Slovenia, is one of the oldest recognised canoe slalom courses still in use today, and in 2019 it will host the ICF's Canoe Slalom World Cup 3. Tacen hosted the 1955 Canoe Slalom World Championships, and has hosted the sport's premiere event twice since - in 1991 and 2010.
The course is home of the legendary 'drop', a challenging part of the course that has broken the hearts of some of the world's best paddler over the years. Last year's ICF World Cup event in Tacen had to be cut short because of flash-flooding, giving athletes and organisers alike extra incentive to make this year's event special.
