The closing date for the opening international event of the ICF’s marathon season is fast approaching, and already there is a strong list of athletes confirmed to take part.

The ICF Canoe Marathon World Cup will be held in the beautiful city of Ruse, the fifth largest city in Bulgaria which hugs the banks of the mighty Danube River.

The world cup will be held over June 3 and 4, and will feature short and long distance for men and women in both canoe and kayak, and for both juniors and seniors.

The short distance races will be held on June 3 over 3.4 kilometres, with two portages, while the junior (19 kilometres) and senior (25 kilometre) long distance will be held on June 4.

The world cup will be the perfect lead-up race for this year’s premiere marathon event, the ICF World Championships in Vejen, Denmark, on August 31 to September 3.

More information and entry details for the ICF Marathon World Cup in Ruse can be found here.

Ruse is easy to access, lying just 75 kilometres from Bucharest Airport. Closing date for registration is May 24.
