The American team continued its strong start to the 2019 ICF Canoe Freestyle World Championships and showed they will be a force for many years to come by filling the top three qualifying positions in the men’s junior kayak surface competition in Sort, Spain, on Monday.

Germany’s Philip Josef pipped Australia’s Jez Jez for the top qualifying score in the men’s open canoe surface preliminary round, with USA’s Jordan Poffenberger finishing third.

Spain’s Adria Bosch Roca, Great Britain’s Adam Ramadan, Germany’s Jonas Unterberg, USA’s Landon Miller, Canada’s Marc Godbout and France’s Jean-Yves Moustrou round out the rest of Tuesday afternoon’s semi-final line-up.

Dally Kellogg, Mason Hargrove and Riley Frank Harris took the top three spots for USA in the men’s junior kayak surface.

They’ll be joined in the semi-finals by Argentina’s Valentin Betancourt, Australia’s Jack Newland, Spanish trio Roger Garrido Vilallave, Pol Montserrat Lopez and Unai Silva Fores, Canada’s Luke Pomery and Sweden’s Jon Persson.
