Sebastian Schubert, Ricardo Funk, Nico Bettge and Andrea Herzog have won the final races of the national World Cup qualification of the German slalom-canoeists on the Augsburg ice-race, securing their places in this season's World Cup teams.

Sebastian Schubert wrapped up more wins in the K1 on the final day.

"I have once again given everything - once again, that was good," Sebastian Schubert, who had already qualified yesterday, said.

He completely dominated the qualifying series, winning all the races to finish with an incredible zero points.

"This alone was not important to me, I just wanted to ride well, everything else would have been unfair," he said.

Schubert's team-mates at the World Cup in September will be Beijing Olympics winner Alexander Grimm and Fabian SchweikertGrimm finished third, with Paul Böckelmann third, while Schweikert's seventh place was enough to earn him the bronze.

Ricarda Funk also took her third victory in the women's K1 and, like Schubert, finished on zero points to comprehensively take the title.

Jasmin Schornberg and Lisa Fritsche finished second and third to book their tickets to the World Championships.

"The goal was to get a kick out today," Funk, who will be hoping to defend her overall World Cup title this year, said.

"I wanted to take the final today as a training and drive as if it were a World Cup final.

"I want to build on what I showed last season. For this I will give everything and see how the international competition is on it.'

In the men's C1, veteran Nico Bettge won the last race ahead of a much younger Willi Braune, with Leon Hanika third. Sideris Tasiadis had already qualified as the overall winner on Saturday.

The London Olympic C2 silver medallists, Nico Bettge and Franz Anton, qualified for the World Cup team.

Andrea Herzog, who had also aready qualified before Sunday's race, took her third day victory in the women's C1. Lena Stöcklin had also already won her way on to the World Cup team.

Third place will go to Birgit Ohmayer, who finished second in front of Nele Bayn

Herzog was especially happy about the first final without touches, her goal for this season,

"But I had to fight quite well," she said

"It was my goal, however, to finally create times and I am of course glad. The time has nevertheless voted, I have tried to meet the line and then I am usually also quite fast."

The first international event for the slalom canoeists of the German Canoe Association (DKV) are the European Championships in Ljubljana-Tacen (Slovenia) from June 1 to 4.
