A development camp and judging seminar will run in Plattling, Germany when it plays host to two International Canoe Federation Canoe Freestyle World Cups.
Paddlers aged 16 and over from nations with limited resources in coaching are being invited to attend the camp that will take place from May 20 to June 1.
Maxi Montoya and Valerie Bertrand will be on hand to guide athletes through both on and off water sessions to work on basic skills.
The ICF and the Host Organising Committee will provide accommodation right next to the feature, offering tent and sleeping gears, access to toilets and simple cooking facilities.
Applications must be submitted by the National Federation by the deadline of April 24.
The camp is limited to two athletes per country, respecting gender equity and they must be born in 2008 or before.
Once the application deadline has passed, the ICF development team will select 10 athletes invited for this camp.
The ICF will access its criteria, including looking at the athlete’s Canoe Freestyle and whitewater skills and previous results and their participation at past continental and global development camps.
It will also look at the athlete's assessment provided by whitwater continental and international experts and consider the long-term strategy of the NF into the development of all the Canoe Freestyle events and whitewater disciplines at the national and continental levels.
As well as the development camp, Plattling will hold a judging seminar from June 2 to 4.
Instructors Charlie Brackpool and Dan Daley will lead the three-day seminar that will see trainees receive a mixture of technical and practical sessions.
Plattling will host back-to-back ICF Canoe Freestyle World Cups, with the first taking place from May 26 and May 28 followed by the second from May 30 to June 1.
