A total of seven Canoe Sprint athletes have been confirmed as flagbearers for the Paris 2024 Closing Ceremony at the Stade de France.  

Men’s canoe single 1000m gold medalist Martin Fuksa has been given the honour by Czechia.  

The 13-time world medallist claimed his first Olympic medal at the Games in Paris, having finished fifth in the event at both Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.  

For Germany, Max Rendschmidt will be one of the flagbearers. He won the kayak double and kayak four 1000m at Rio 2016.  

At Tokyo, he clinched the kayak four 500m title and defended it successfully in the French capital.  

Women’s canoe single 200m bronze medalist Yarisleidis Cirilo Duboys, who is the first female from Cuba to win an Olympic medal in the sport, has been selected as one of the country’s flagbearers.  

Combe Seck of Senegal is making a return in the Closing Ceremony having also done flag duty at the Opening Ceremony.

Jiexian Stephenie Chen, who made her Olympic debut in Paris and became the second athlete to represent Singapore in Canoe Sprint after Geraldine Lee at London 2012, will lead her nation from the front.  

Matias Valentin Otero Ezcurra, who finished sixth in Final B in the men’s kayak single 1000m, will be in front of the Uruguayan team.  

A total of 12 paddlers were given flagbearer duties for the Olympic Opening Ceremony.  

The Paris 2024 Closing Ceremony will begin at 21:00 (local time) at the Stade de France.
