Honours from various organisations continue to come the way of Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic medallists for their exceptional performances in the French capital.

Lisa Carrington, who won three gold medals at the Olympic Games (K1, K2, and K4 500m) this year, was crowned Māori Sports Person of the Year for the seventh time.

In October, the New Zealand star affiliated to Te Aitanga-a-Māhaki and Ngāti Porou was awarded the Outstanding Sporting Carrer Prize at the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) Awards.

Peter Cowan of the Ngāti Kahungunu iwi was named Māori Para Athlete of the Year after winning bronze in the VL3 200m on his Paralympic Games debut.

The Spanish Olympic Committee presented awards to Saul Craviotto, Carlos Arevalo, Marcus Cooper and Rodrigo Germade, who won the K4 500m bronze medal in Paris along with C2 500 bronze medal winners Diego Dominguez and Joan Antoni Moreno.

Craviotto, who won his sixth Olympic medal in Paris, received the prestigious Heart of Spain award. In Canoe Slalom, K1 bronze medallist Pau Echaniz was also recognised.

Superstar Jessica Fox of Australia, who already has a bag full of awards this year, was given an official welcome home by Penrith City Council, with Mayor Todd Carney presenting her with the keys to Penrith City.

She was joined by kayak cross gold medallist and sister Noemie Fox and other Canoe Slalom Olympians Tim Anderson and Tristan Carter.

In Paracanoe, KL2 champion Curtis McGrath was the recipient of the QAS Athlete Award at the Queensland Academy of Sport Awards.

The Hungarian Canoe Federation named Tamara Csipes Female Kayaker of the Year after her two silvers and a bronze medal in Canoe Sprint at the Olympics.

Adam Varga's K1 1000m silver earned him the title of the Male Kayaker of the Year. Csipes' father Ferenc Csipes was awarded Coach of the Year for his contributions during the Games.

Istvan Pruzsina became Paracanoe Coach of the Year after helping Peter Kiss defend the KL1 title in France, with the latter being named Paracanoe Male Athlete of the Year.
