Germany and Spain won the men’s and women’s 2024 International Canoe Federation Hangzhou Super Cup Canoe Polo gold medals, respectively, on the final day of the multi-discipline tournament.

Beatriz Carmona was the star of the show for the Spaniards as they edged Great Britain 3-2.

Carmona, who was their skipper, played a crucial role in all three of their goals in what was a tight match.

She assisted twice and scored a penalty to down a spirited British side for the gold medal.

“It was quite close. It started well but then they closed down on us with goals. But I think we managed it quite well. We're gonna just sleep and rest before the World Championships,” Carmona said.

The men’s final between Germany and Spain finished 4-0 in favour of the Germans.

Despite the scoreline, the Spaniards displayed some sensational defending and successfully kept the Germans at bay for long periods of the game.

However, the reigning world champions showed their class and superiority to underline why they are the favourites to retain the World Championships gold medal in Deqing.

“I think the match was quite fine. In the final, we always tried to keep possession of the ball to play our game. We also had a bit of luck but 4-0 is a great score. I think it's quite a good preparation for the World Championships,” Jonas Viera said.

Great Britain won the men’s Canoe Polo bronze medal after crushing New Zealand 6-0.

The Kiwi women, despite putting up a fight, went down against the Germans 2-3 in their third-place game.

The last day of the Super Cup also featured the men’s K1 long-distance final.

As expected, Mads Brandt Pedersen won his second gold medal, having triumphed in the short-distance on the first day in Hangzhou.

The Dane put in a stellar show to complete the race in 1:28:42, signing off the long season in style.

Familiar faces and South African stars Hamish Lovemore and Andrew James Birkett claimed silver and bronze, respectively.
