A busy week of international canoe federation events begins on Wednesday with a canoe sprint and paracanoe world cup at the Olympic venue in Paris, a marathon world championships in Denmark, and a canoe slalom world cup in Spain.

Many of the world’s best sprint and paracanoe athletes have travelled straight from the ICF world championships in Duisburg to Vaires-sur-Marne in Paris, where most will have their first experience on the Paris 2024 race course in an ICF World Cup.

Defending world champions from the 2022 canoe marathon titles in Portugal will line up in Vejen for the 2023 titles, among them Danish star Mads Pedersen, Hungarian Vanda Kiszli and and Ukraine Liudmyla Babak.

In La Seu, Spain, the world’s best canoe slalom paddlers will have their final international competition before next month’s ICF world championships and Olympic qualifiers in Lee Valley with the fourth world cup of the year.

There is also an ICF Wildwater Canoeing World Cup in Ceske Budejovice, in the Czech Republic.
