The full schedule and further details have been revealed for this year’s International Canoe Federation Stand Up Paddling World Championships.
Sarasota in Florida, the United States will stage the ICF’s flagship event for SUP from November 19 to 24.
Paddlers of all levels are being encouraged to sign up for what promises to be a family-friendly environment with a fantastic programme of races in store.
Competition will begin on November 20 with the sprint preliminary rounds, heats and quarter-finals taking place before the Opening Ceremony that evening.
Technical preliminary rounds, heats and quarter-finals will be on the agenda on November 21.
The first medals will be awarded on November 22 with the sprint semi-finals followed by the finals.
On November 23, technical quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals will all be held in what is set to be an absorbing penultimate day of racing.
The event will draw to a close on November 24 with the finals in long distance and inflatable as well as kids races and the Closing Ceremony in the evening.
A total of $30,000 EUR in prize money will be awarded and distributed equally between men and women.
Each competitor represents themselves and is responsible for their own entries and participation.
The registration fee will increase on May 31 before going up again on September 30.
A deadline of November 1 has been set for registration.
Paddlers are encouraged to book accommodation early with all the official hotel details available on the ICF’s event page.
Races will be staged at the Nathan Benderson Park, a world-renowned paddling and aquatics facility that has hosted multiple international and national events in the past.
Sarasota is well-known as a holiday destination and is famous for award-winning beaches, including the Siesta Key Beach.
It is also just a two-hour drive from the Walt Disney World Resort and one hour away from Tampa, Florida.

The 2024 ICF SUP World Championships builds upon the success of the previous year’s edition in Pattaya, Thailand, which attracted over 1,000 participants across the world.
The live stream coverage reached over 200 countries through 168 partners, highlighting the global appeal of SUP and underscoring the growing popularity of the sport on the international stage.

Rental boats are being provided by ICF partner Sports Camps which will also offer board shuttle services from Sarasota Bradenton Airport to the venue and back.
